Adding or changing a featured image in WordPress is like updating your profile pic on social media. So let’s see how to do it.

First of all, login to your WordPress Dashboard. Then, open the post or page for which you want to set a featured image. Click on ‘Edit’. Then in that post or page, move on to the right-sidebar, scroll a little bit and you will see an option of ‘featured image’. Click on it.

After that click on the button ‘Set Featured Image’. Now there are two options from which you can set a featured image. First by clicking on the button ‘Select Files’ and uploading a media file from your device. And the second is by choosing an image from all the available images in the Media library.

So, if you already have your required image in the Media Library, then select it from there. Or else you can upload it from your device. Once you have selected the required image, click on ‘Set Featured Image’. Then you will see that the image is uploaded on the right sidebar.

After that, you have to click on ‘Update’. The post is updated. And the featured image is successfully added for your post or page.

Change the Current Image

Now if you want to change the current featured image or replace the image just click on the button ‘Replace Image’. Then choose an image from the available images in the Media Library. Or upload a media file by clicking on ‘Upload Files’. Then ‘Select Files’ and then select a file from your device.
