Hi, this is Digital Abhi, your digital marketing friend, and a contented digital marketer. In this post, I will share how to install WordPress through CPanel.
Firstly, how you can get a CPanel? CPanel is provided by your hosting provider. I would recommend you use Bluehost or Namecheap. I have used both of these and found them to be great. So, without wasting any further time, let’s dive into the step by step process of installing WordPress.
Install WordPress (Step by Step Guide)
To help you understand better, I have attached a video here. I will highly recommend you watch this video as it is easier to understand these types of tutorials with the help of a video.
After watching the video, you can refer to these footnotes to have even a better understanding on how to install WordPress:
To install WordPress, we will first login to our Cpanel. After logging into your CPanel, scroll over to Softaculous Apps Installer. There you can see the icon of WordPress. Click on the WordPress icon which will redirect you to the App Installer.
Now scroll a little bit and click on INSTALL NOW. Then comes some details which you need to fill carefully. Select the https version if you have an SSL. Select the domain name at which you want to install WordPress. Here, in my case, I have selected digitalabhi.com.
Now here’s the important thing. Make sure that the in-directory is empty. We’ll change the site name to Digital Abhi (which in your case will be your site name). And then enter the site description. I will just change it to ‘World’s Going Digital’. You need to enter your own site description.
By the way, the site name and description are not permanent. For the time, you can just put anything here. Then, you can change it later. Then you have to enter the username and password. This is the username and password which you will use to login to your WordPress dashboard.
So, you can enter any username and password you like as you can change it later. You also need to select the language. I have selected English. After that, don’t touch any of the options. However, you can tick the Limit Login Attempts. It will limit the number of login attempts allowed to log in to the WordPress Dashboard.
And then again click on Install. You can put your email address if you want to receive the installation details. And then the installation will start. You will see that WordPress has been successfully installed. After that, you can return to the overview. Cool! It’s perfectly installed on our website.
Logging into WordPress Dashboard
Now, you just need to check it out if it is perfectly installed or not. Then you need to check your WordPress dashboard. To access your WordPress dashboard, you just have to put /wp-admin after your domain name. So, let’s say I have a website abc.com. So, to access it’s WordPress dashboard, I just have to enter abc.com/wp-admin in the URL bar.
Then, hit enter and the corresponding WordPress Dashboard will open up. Now you need to enter the username and password which you have already set in the CPanel while installing the WordPress. Hit the login button and you will jump right into your WordPress dashboard. This is how the dashboard of WordPress looks like when you have just installed it.
