Is Digital Marketing for me?
Digital Marketing is trending for some time. Due to this a lot of people are choosing it as a career option. And while choosing something as a career option, almost all of us have the same question. Is it for me? Is this the right path for me?
Do you want an honest answer from me? My answer is, I don’t know if it is for you or not. But yes, you can find it out yourself. To find out whether digital marketing is for you or not, you first need to know whether you are passionate about it or not.
So,let me reframe your question. Am I passionate about digital marketing?
How to find your passion for Digital Marketing?
So, basically how you can find out whether you are passionate about something or not. It’s very simple. Do it for some time. With some time, I mean at least 6 or 8 weeks. Let’s take an example.
Let’s say you’re passionate about the piano. Start learning and practicing it. Do it for some time. And if at the end of the 8th week, you still have the same energy as you had on the very first day, then yes, the piano is for you.
You want to find your passion for digital marketing? Apply the same trick to it.
Start learning it now. Learn its different aspects. Apply them, Share them with others. Do it for 6 7 or 8 weeks consistently. And if at the end of 8th week, you have the same energy, same enthusiasm as you had on the very first day when you started, then yes, digital marketing is for you.
Let’s see this another way round. If you are willing to do digital marketing for at least the next 5 years, if you are willing to practice it hardcore for the next 5 years, if you ready to hustle and grind for the next 5 or 8 years, then yes, digital marketing is for you.
My Own Example
To make it more clear, I think I should share my own example. I was first introduced to digital marketing in July 2017 by one of my college seniors. He taught me a little bit about websites, SEO and other related. At that time, I was not too serious about it. I was just playing with the things and testing out different aspects of digital marketing.
But from April 2019, I started taking it a little bit seriously. Or as my mentor, Digital Pratik says, I became a hardcore practitioner of digital marketing. I started learning it, I started practicing it. And now I am sharing it with others too. And yes, I have figured out my passion for digital marketing. I can do it for the next 5 or 8 years. It is the thing for me.

Want to find your passion for something? Want to find out if something is for you or not? Give it a try for some time. Do it consistently for 8 weeks. If at the end of the 8th week you have the same energy and enthusiasm as you had on the first day, then it is for you.
To be honest, I can’t say whether digital marketing or any other profession is for you or not. I don’t know you personally. You have to figure it out. If you are a teenager or in the early twenties, you have got plenty of time. Try and test new things. Try and test different things.
The more you try the more you test the more you will know what you love and what you don’t. Through this way, you will be able to find out what you are passionate about and what you love to do? This is the only way through which you will be able to find your passion for something.
